The Vampire as Revenant
-Slavic revenant: the soul of someone departed who appears to the living, usually with a desire for contact, sometimes with a further need
-Mora: night spirit which tries to suffocate or sexually arouse its sleeping victim
---->Both are spirits which appear to the living
---->Mora is restrained to the night and revenant is not
---->Mora attacks the living (sleepers) but the revenant is not hostile
-Slavic revenant is a spirit and the vampire a corpse
-Unlike the revenant, but like the mora the vampire is hostile toward the living
-Vampire frequently kills its victims, but the mora never does
-Vampire feeds on its victims, but the mora does not
-Revenant has no victims as such
-Poltergeist: mysterious and undefined spirit which causes the sudden movement, fracture, disappearance, or appearance of portable objects
-Like the revenant and more it is a spirit
-Like the revenant it is not limited to night
-In affecting inanimate objects solely it differs from others
-Poltergeist is a spirit which is never seen
